What is the Training Maturity Matrix?

  1. Reactive: Organizations that have not yet developed a formal training program. Examples: no formal training program, informal training initiatives.
  2. Proactive: Organizations that have developed a formal training program. Examples: established processes and procedures for training, but not fully optimized.
  3. Optimized: Organizations that have optimized their training program. Examples: identified areas of improvement and taken steps to improve their training program.
  4. Innovative: Organizations that have taken their training program to the next level. Examples: constantly innovating and looking for ways to improve their training program.

What is the purpose of the Training Maturity Matrix?

The Training Maturity Matrix is a 2x2 matrix that helps organizations assess the maturity of their training programs. It can be used to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to increase training effectiveness. The matrix is divided into four quadrants, each representing a different level of training maturity.

The top left quadrant is labeled “Reactive” and represents organizations that have not yet developed a formal training program. These organizations may have some training initiatives in place, but they are not well-defined or standardized. The top right quadrant is labeled “Proactive” and represents organizations that have developed a formal training program. These organizations have established processes and procedures for training, but they may not be fully optimized.

The bottom left quadrant is labeled “Optimized” and represents organizations that have optimized their training program. These organizations have identified areas of improvement and have taken steps to improve their training program. The bottom right quadrant is labeled “Innovative” and represents organizations that have taken their training program to the next level. These organizations are constantly innovating and looking for ways to improve their training program.
