What is the Knowledge-Skill Matrix?

  3. Low Knowledge, High Skill: Individuals in this quadrant have a low level of knowledge but a high level of skill. For example, they may be able to do a task quickly and accurately but lack the theoretical understanding of why it works.
  4. Low Knowledge, Low Skill: Individuals in this quadrant have a low level of knowledge and a low level of skill. For example, they may not understand the theory behind a task and lack the practical experience to do it.

What is the purpose of the Knowledge-Skill Matrix?

The Knowledge-Skill Matrix is a 2x2 matrix used to assess the knowledge and skills of an individual or team. It can help identify areas of strength and weakness, and inform decisions about training and development.

The matrix is divided into four quadrants, each representing a different combination of knowledge and skill. The top-left quadrant is for individuals who have a high level of knowledge but a low level of skill. The bottom-left quadrant is for individuals who have a low level of knowledge but a high level of skill.
