What is the Test Matrix?

A visual explanation is shown in the image above. The Test Matrix can be described as a matrix with the following quadrants:

  1. Successful & Profitable: The product or service is successful and profitable, e.g. a new product launch that is selling well and making a profit.
  2. Successful & Unprofitable: The product or service is successful but not profitable, e.g. a popular product that is selling well but not making a profit.
  3. Unsuccessful & Profitable: The product or service is not successful but is profitable, e.g. a product that is not selling well but is still making a profit.
  4. Unsuccessful & Unprofitable: The product or service is neither successful nor profitable, e.g. a product that is not selling well and is not making a profit.

What is the purpose of the Test Matrix?
