What is the Channel Strategy Matrix?

  1. High Reach, Low Profitability: Channels with high reach and low profitability should be explored further to see if they can be made more profitable, e.g. Social Media Ads.
  2. High Reach, High Profitability: Channels with high reach and high profitability should be prioritized and invested in, e.g. Paid Search Ads.
  3. Low Reach, Low Profitability: Channels with low reach and low profitability should be avoided, e.g. Print Ads.
  4. Low Reach, High Profitability: Channels with low reach and high profitability should be explored further to see if they can be made more profitable, e.g. Affiliate Marketing.

What is the purpose of the Channel Strategy Matrix?

The Channel Strategy Matrix is a 2x2 matrix used to evaluate the potential of different channels for a business. It helps to prioritize channels and decide which ones to invest more resources in. It is based on two criteria: reach and profitability.

The reach criterion is based on the number of potential customers that can be reached through a channel. The profitability criterion is based on the cost of acquiring customers through a channel and the revenue generated from them.

The matrix is divided into four quadrants. The top-left quadrant is for channels with high reach and low profitability. These channels should be explored further to see if they can be made more profitable. The top-right quadrant is for channels with high reach and high profitability. These channels should be prioritized and invested in. The bottom-left quadrant is for channels with low reach and low profitability. These channels should be avoided.
